S.Tarlochan
Singh Khurana was born in the family of S. Balbir Singh and
Jai Kaur on 2nd Sept. 1928. He was the youngest
child of his parents
and right from the beginning was ambitious and intelligent.
He graduated from Khalsa College, Amritsar and later took
diploma in Textile Printing.
After
completing his education he joined service in Amritsar Rayon
and Silk Mills as head of the Textile Printing Unit. But the
constraints of service curbed his entrepreneurship and ambitions
to grow. So, he left the service and established his own unit
in the name of Khurana Textile and Printing Mills in the year
1957.
He
was a visionary and could foresee that in the years to come
the key to success was diversification. So from Textile Printing,
he diverted to coal business in 1970 under the name of Khurana
Coal Agency and within a short span of time he became the
leading Coal Hadling Agent in Amritsar catering to the requirement
of almost 300 industrial units of Amritsar. He was the president
of Amritsar Industrialist Association.
A
down to earth and God fearing S. Tarlochan Singh was a self
made person. He was a philanthropist and throughout remained
concerned for the poor and the downtrodden. Even in business,
he never left his values & ideals.
Mr.
N.S. Khurana younger son of Sh. T.S. Khurana having vast experience
in the coal distributionship, manufacturing and trading of
coal/coke on the footsteps of his father established another
company Khurana Associates which is dealing in all kinds of
core coal and is having offices in Guwahatti, Kolkata and
Asansol. It is catering to the coal requirement of almost
all the small scale units and brick killn owners of Punjab,
Haryana and J.K.
The
latest venture of Khurana's is Khurana Petroleum which will
supply Petroleum Coke to the processing units to be consumed
in their furnaces. The unit is already registered with the
Central Excise Department for the benefits of customers getting
Modvat from Excise Department. Supply of Petroleum Coke is
already in progress in Punjab, Haryana and J.K. It is endeavor
of the company to transact its entire business online to save
the time of its customers. The third generation of S. Tarlochan
Singh Khurana, Mr. Amit Singh Khurana son of Shri Narinder
Singh Khurana is handling this business of Petroleum Coke,
who has inherited the vision from his grandfather and entrepreneurship
from his father.
